Code Quest
Enter Ogilvy. This was one of the first projects I worked on when I join Ogilvy Jhb a few months back. Sam and I had an estimated week to pull this campus activation off. As we were both fairly new to the Cell C account it was quite a challenge to say the least (That and being knocked down by flu 1 day before deadline, blergh). In a nutshell, varsity students had to 3 hours to find 100 Photocodes hidden all around their campus. Photocodes were loaded with spot prizes and point values. The team to uncode and find the most won prizes (it’s not rocket science). We got to come up with a whole bunch of cool t-shirts and collateral which was pretty cool.

Unused Concept
I have folders and folders of unused concepts. Ideas presented. Work canned. Thoughts sketched up. Designs forgotten, half executed, ditched. Yet I can’t trash them - one day, they’ll come in handy (Heaven forbid you do trash something - Murphy’s law you’ll need it the very next day). The hours poured into creating these overlooked pieces can never be replaced, and yet it’s what I love doing. Creating something from scratch, solving the problem, ridding the world of bad design even if it’s just for a brief millisecond.
Designed this piece as a welcome wall for Altech Auto Page during the 2010 World Cup (Hence the greetings in multiple languages). Sadly the project was put on hold :(
R2 Umoya
A small campaign I worked on at MetropolitanRepublic. The brief was to communicate that Umoya (Airtime) was now available in any denomination, the lowest being R2. This is a huge sell to the township communities as people often buy small amounts of airtime as and when they need it.

MTN Happy Hands Sale
One of the first campaigns I worked on at MetropolitanRepublic. These were the pre-CI days. Anything was do-able, there were no restrictions. I look back on those days fondly!
Coke Confed Cup
Every designer’s dream, a chance to work on the revered brand of Coca-Cola. If only it was that glamorous! Just a few elements we proposed for the Confederations Cup 2009.
Mezzanine
Designed the Corporate Identity for a really cool local Furniture/Interior Design company in Greenside.

Jungle Crunch Packaging
One of my very first solo projects out in the real world. Had the fun job of redesigning the Jungle Energy Crunch & Bar range. Didn’t come out exactly how I wanted it (My first pitches were way cooler - always the case), but it’s always awesome walking past these colourful beauts in PnP.
Vanity
The brief was to design a typeface based on a personality stereotype. I chose to represent a supermodel, and had to reflect those clichés in a quote. Where better to find inspiration than Zoolander?
Cowpatches
A 1st year project where we had to combine typography, paper, bulls eyes, cowpatches and texture together to form a composition. We were only allowed to use two complimentary colours. Mixed Medium on Fabriano Board.
I do like these, created for the (British) Queen’s Jubilee via
